Documentary on Barack Obama to be debuted in 2009

HBO has acquired the rights to a documentary film on President-elect Barack Obama and will air the film next year.

According to
news.yahoo.com, the film is produced by actor Edward Norton and his Class 5 Films company.

Norton reportedly approached the Obama campaign in early 2006 about producing a documentary about his life in politics.

Filming began prior to Obama announcing his bid for the presidency and followed him all the way up until election night this past Tuesday (November 4).

Directors Amy Rice and Alicia Sams were granted unprecedented access inside Obama's daily life and campaign for the presidency.

"Senator Obama's history-making race for the White House has given our film a perfect framework to explore the pulse of the country at this vital moment in our history," said Norton.

HBO reportedly paid seven figures for the US rights to the documentary.
